I've known John for 20 years as a colleague and as a friend. John is a savvy designer with a great sense of what the client needs. I highly recommend John as a great designer for any business venture. He has an amazing work ethic, very easy to work with, and friendly personality. He is a great asset. His strengths lie in the ability to listen to customer requirements and design needs and to develop those business requirements into an amazing website. His attention to detail, style and creativity is impeccable. As an artist, he expresses himself beautifully. As a technical expert, he knows all of the technical tools in depth and is able to quickly learn new tools. I’d highly recommend John based on his experience, knowledge, and personal skills.
I just wish I could get him full time with me. The time he spends working for others could better be spent making money for me!
I know Jack as an educator, marketing executive, superior, and friend. I am a good ten years Jack’s senior, but I have not known one week in which he has not taught me something substantive and beneficial about business, education, and life. As my superior, Jack gave me full credit for my abilities and delegated to me the freedom to exercise them unfettered by any artificially imposed restrictions. Jack treats everyone equally, at the same time recognizing in each their uniqueness and, thus, making everyone feel that he is according them preference. He is insightful, analytical, comprehensive, responsible, and extremely effective.
I have been very pleased with the work that Pragmatic Web Designer has done for me. John has been very responsive and concerned about my satisfaction with the work.
The team at Pragmatic is among an elite group of web design firms who truly understand what the business owner needs from their website. You will see this difference in your very first interview with them. If you need a website that produces results, I am confident John Elcik and his team can deliver the goods.
John was a pleasure to work with and I see many future contract with him. He is first rate and thats who we work with.
Dr. John Elcik was my go-to expert when I first began working in higher education in his marketing role at Campus Management Corp. His higher education technology expertise combined with his marketing experience in research was a key factor in our successful efforts to expand our ERP solutions into traditional higher education.
Jack was most helpful with development of strategic process details related to enrollment, admissions, and registration recommendations, as well as overall prospect tactical sales recommendations. He has a unique ability to simplify the needed steps to efficiency in higher education from both a technical and marketing perspective that was invaluable to my role at Campus Management Corp.
I highly recommend Jack both as a higher education expert and as a friend.
I worked with John at CARS Information Systems (the predecessor to Jenzabar). I was in Sales at that time. I found him to be a dedicated and loyal employee with many innovative marketing ideas to assist the sales force. John was always there to assist the sales staff and other company departments in every way possible to put the best light on our company and the products we offered. It was a pleasure working with such a dynamic and cooperative person.
As the CIO at Northcentral Technical College, I have had the pleasure of working with John. He used his expertise and customer service skills to help our Financial Aid team. I found him very sincere and responsible. It has been a pleasure to have worked with John.
At Jenzabar, Jack reported to me as he lead, directed and managed all our corporate marketing activities. Jack has solid decision and judgment skills, he understands all aspects of putting together an effective marketing program which strengthens the message and brand. Marketing initiatives are very deadline driven and Jack meets every deadline, even under stressful situations. I could always count on Jack. Jack is an outstanding communicator, both verbally and written. Jack's marketing accomplishments at Jenzabar are extensive because Jack stepped up to achieve every goal that was presented to him. Working closely with Jack was a pleasure because I always knew that he would deliver and never disappoint me, or our sales and marketing team as a whole.
Former VP of Sales & Marketing - Jenzabar Inc.
I supervised John's work here at FAME and recommend him highly for an executive position with marketing or new product development functions. John's strongest talents are in research and trend analysis. He is adept at finding the local application of research results, and he evolved a clearly documented set of product recommendations based on demographic, financial, and institutional data sources. I found John to be a very congenial person, good natured and industrious. He will make a positive contribution wherever he is.
John's knowledge of the higher education market is very impressive. He has a unique blend of technical, analytical and people skills that he effectively employed in his role as Product Manager at FAME. John is detail oriented and you can always rely on him to provide honest, intellingent and forthright analysis and feedback. His perspective relative to business situations, strategic plans or low level tactics is highly valued. He always treats other with a great deal of dignity and respect. I would highly recommend John for any Product Management position.
John Elcik is a product marketing professional of the highest integrity and competence. I worked with John at Cars Information Systems (now a part of Jenzabar, Inc.) in a group of product managers responsible for all product management of the company's enterprise administrative system for Higher Education. John is a true subject-matter expert in Enrollment Management and overall systems for Higher Education. He is creative, willing to ask the hard questions and always put the company first. He would be a tremendous asset to any company desiring a superb product marketing professional who deftly balances leadership and management in achievement of business goals.
John, has a the unique ability in the Higher Education technology area to understand and empathize with the customer/prospect at a college or university because he has been in their shoes, and he can also effectively structure and communicate those needs in a way that a technology provider can create a solution that is valuable and marketable to post secondary educational organizations both non and for profit.
John is my husband. As an authority on the subject of crafting I needed a site where I could educate serious crafters and hobbyists alike on a wide range of subjects. The site captures my humor and the spirit of adventure in all my crafting projects. Content is highly optimized for search engines and readily accessible to visitors. See for yourself what he did for me at princessofcrafts.com.
John is one of those rare individuals who can work at an incredibly detailed level yet can think and understand at a very strategic level. John's attention to detail and success in an ethical business environment makes him a person I enjoyed working with and would not hesitate on an opportunity to work with him again. I highly recommend John to anyone considering employing him or working with him.
Lynn Shaver worked for me in the capacity of Executive Assistant. As her supervisor, I trusted her and had many opportunities to identify her superior work habits and skill levels. She is an exceptionally talented and loyal individual.
During Lynn's time with Jenzabar and CARS, she was responsible for marketing and sales support activity for a group of professionals. In addition to a high energy level, Lynn demonstrated a high level of commitment, a willingness to accept responsibility, and the interpersonal skills necessary to handle conflict and challenging situations.
I would highly recommend Lynn Shaver for any position she would pursue. I’m certain her intelligence, cooperation, and self-confidence would make an immediate contribution.
Both a visionary and a trusted friend, Andrew is the smartest and most effective operations executive I know. His business acumen has made him a key player in education with the Co-Founding of TenMarks Education. TenMarks, an Amazon company, uses the web and the power of content, distribution, and devices to improve K-12 education.
They create lifelong learners. It is a big deal with millions of students in more than 25,000 schools across the United States being helped. His tenacity and directed energy make him the indispensable man in any organization. I’m proud to have had Andrew associated with one of my higher education projects.
I know Joe as a writer, friend and consultant. Joe is a member of the Writers Guild of America. He has authored numerous screenplays, non-fiction books, and novels. He has written for local and national newspapers, magazines, and websites.
But even more important he taught me more about friendship and consulting than anyone else. He taught me, “Don't sacrifice long-term goals for short-term gain.” This principle eventually led me to better opportunities. I developed my marketing skills while working for others; then with Joe’s encouragement became a consultant.
Along the way, a number of superb mentors have blessed my growth in the art of web design, but nobody has taught me more about running a business than I learned from my friend Joe. I still outsource work his way. I trust Joe.
Starting a business may be May-Alice’s toughest challenge. But I’m so glad she did it. By launching MosaicHUB, an online community created to help entrepreneurs find the people and resources they need to succeed; she has created an online “home” for me and others like me.
I was looking to connect with others is a real and fun way. And Mary-Alice has provided a platform for that and so much more. There is never a day that goes by that she, the staff or a community member doesn’t teach me something new and valuable. Even if it is not the lesson I was looking for.
I have respect and admiration for Mary-Alice. Her passion for promoting entrepreneurship is real. And her introduction of technology and social platforms as ways to foster collaboration and help fellow entrepreneurs and their businesses is a whopping success.

Nicole introduced me to “Private Label Rights” or PLR. For marketers, it means videos, audios, articles, reports, ebooks, or even software that you can edit, put your name on it and use in your business. Under the right circumstances this can be a huge shortcut and very cost-effective.
What I like about Nicole is that I get Quality Content with Limited Distribution. Listen; there are perhaps 2-3 sources I trust to provide me with the content I need to succeed online today. And EasyPLR is one of them. I still rewrite but I’m starting with a quality product. I like that. I also like that she bills herself as the Mostly-Sane Marketer. If the truth be told there is a bit of insanity in the best of us.
Finally, I like transparency in business. And Nicole does that. For example she shares the tools and services she uses in her own business with us “newbees.” Read this blog post: www.nicoleonthenet.com/essential-tools-for-an-online-business/. Now we both are fans.

We loved working with Danette, the Broker at Central Properties Realty in Coral Springs, FL. My wife and I have referred her to friends who have also had a fantastic experience. Danette is extremely professional and knowledgeable about the real estate market.
Danette listens "in between the lines" on what you want. She always was ready with all the information we needed to make an informed decision. And, she knows the Miami/Fort Lauderdale Area inside and out.
We love our house! You would be smart to hire her for any of your real estate needs!
Tara is responsible for improving my blogging, social networking, online and offline marketing. As a web designer I had to get started with Social Media sometime. At Tara’s instance I had to “Stop right now!” and learn. And I did.
I learned Social Media marketing involves strategy. And I learned how to make the social sites work for my business. Her course wasn't a how to set-up sites. As she explained it; I could get that on YouTube. Instead with her course materials to guide me I put together a plan for marketing and business success that focuses on client contact, systems for success and lead generation. Thank you, Tara.

Kelly, a full-time “solopreneur” celebrating twelve years in online business, has been my go-to-gal for digital images for over a year. She taught me and other content creators how to best use images to make our content look fantastic. I was one of the first to sign up for her monthly digital newsletter. It is packed with DIY how-to-help plus Royalty Free Stock Images to use. I always recommend her to friends who may need to grow their online businesses.
Conrad had a dream: to help me and others quickly become top web designers by providing the most effective training system available. He did it: www.LearnWebDevelopment.com . His training system was a combination of online training classes with Q&A, one-on-one support, and recorded video training. The result was a short learning curve. I spent less time learning new programs and more time increasing my income. Yes, I learned how to create profitable and impressive websites. But his training went beyond the essentials and gave me the confidence to create a successful business. Thank you Conrad, “You’re the best!”
I thought I was protected. And when I learned I wasn't; Steve Kozy came to my rescue. I had fallen victim to Conduit and StartSavin two particularly virulent forms of malware. Conduit is a browser hijacker, which is promoted via other free downloads, and once installed it will add the Conduit Toolbar, and change your browser homepage and default search engine to search.conduit.com. StartSavin comes into your computer and shows you numerous pop up ads, deals and coupons.
Steve provided a way for me to get rid of the virus that didn't enrich the coffers of the ad companies. While I can’t say I couldn't get work done; catching a virus slows you down. In this case the silver lining was I found a new and very talented friend: Steve Kozy.
"Owning It, The Aspiring Entrepreneur’s Guide to Planning & Launching a Successful Business" by Cate Costa was recently purchased as a Amazon.com Kindle download. Kudos! This is a great book for the person new to business. The book offers compelling information on how to start a business venture the right way without the customary fluff. As the founder of identityXperts and two other startups, I was looking for something to orient my wife and others to what we entrepreneur’s go through. This does the job quite well. Its an easy read yet covers all the key elements of launching a successful business. Cate deserves to be on a short list of business and management consultants to other business owners. She speaks with experience and authority on how things "should be done." Dr. John Elcik - The Pragmatic Web Designer
"Social Success in Social Media: Why Being Social Can Grow Your Business" by Taylor Ellwood explores social behaviors on social media as a way of demonstrating and explaining how social relationships can help grow a business.
His insights into social behavior on social media are solid. I learned why some behavior works and others don't. Having read this I know how to continue to refine and develop my social media business plan. I typically have focused on Facebook and Twitter. Taylor makes an effective case for using Google+ effectively for business.
If you want to learn successful social behaviors that will help you grow your business, start with Taylor's book.
Shawn is an industrious person and a successful business entrepreneur. He makes the sale. But, also, to his credit; his experience and hard work has certainly improved the world around him. Small colleges benefited from his early focus on administrative processes in higher education. And lately his work with tools for evaluating and improving student writing have had a positive impact on the lives of students. Shawn has excellent communications skills, high energy and a positive attitude that brings success to him and the organizations he favors. Knowing Shawn for a number of years; he is devoted to customers and they to him. I would highly recommend him for any sales position focused on information technology.
When I started with CARS, Len was the best salesperson in the company. He was tenacious in generating leads and converting them into sales. He was my mentor in learning the sales process: easy to work with, a great coach and patient teacher. His ongoing thirst for knowledge is evidence by his completion of Six Simga training. Len's customers love and trust him. I strongly recommend Len for sales and sales management opportunities.
I have known Dave Monaghan throughout his work experience with CARS and later at Jenzabar. He and I have continued to stay in touch as friends when we no longer worked together.
But friendship aside, Dave Monaghan is perhaps the best salesman and customer service advocate I know. Keep in mind that I have worked with over two dozen of the best in a 20-year career in sales and marketing. Dave is able to keep people happy and remain productive when others are not and this brings about sales.
One of my favorite “Dave Monaghan” stories is to recall Dave’s first sale of an ERP system for CARS. What was most remarkable about the sale was that it was negotiated and completed during a two-day demonstration. No one else has ever completed a CARS sale in one trip. Dave didn’t know that and simply followed his natural sales instincts. We all were impressed by this achievement and I have remained so over the years.
Dave’s success with customers and associates alike is remarkable and largely do to a personality that people just relate warmly to. He is the brother you miss or the son you would like to have – I’m sure you get the idea. Dave doesn’t rely on charm, however. He also tackles the toughest assignments. He has, for example, successfully sold unpopular license upgrades to customers when other sales people couldn’t.
In summary, Dave has shown the kind of initiative that is necessary to be successful over the long-term in the higher education field. He has excellent sales skills, yet remains focused on the overall needs of the client. I know that he has an excellent future in the higher education market. He is a conscientious worker and has an excellent work ethic.
Troy is a qualified project manager who has a customer-centric approach to work and a proven track record of delivering results. His experience ranges from vision and road plan mapping, budgeting, new product development, to user experience, back-end technology, requirement writing, and new product launches. At FAME he leads teams and virtual teams and works in an agile environment. I know him as an approachable leader and team player with excellent relationship, communication and interpersonal skills. He finds creative solutions to problems that others may not. I would welcome the opportunity to work with Troy anywhere.

I knew Paul as the Senior Business Analyst at FAME Inc. Customers love Paul. And with good reason. His industry experience and technology skills combined with a positive winning attitude gets the job done. I've seen Paul successfully manage large, complex projects that could easily have failed, but didn't. I hope always to have him on my team.l
I new Rich as the Product Manager & Implementation Consultant at CARS/Jenzabar. Rich is a proven experienced product manager who directly affected the success of CARS Information Systems. His ability to manage and strengthen our alumni development software solution placed him at the vortex of company life during one of the most exciting times in our industry. Rich helped us by prioritizing across a variety of development projects, streamlining our internal processes and also helped us to build a compelling road-map.
His performance on information technology projects was exceptional; deliverables were high-quality, on schedule, and within budget. The bottom-line he is very efficient, professional and a pleasure to work with. I highly recommend Richard Hobson if you need a seasoned professional to help get any product management job done.
I knew Robert as the Senior Technical Writer/Editor at FAME, Inc. I would not hesitate to recommend Robert and I wish him well on all his future endeavors. He is a professional, senior technical writer of the highest caliber, who meticulously researches, formats, edits and proofs his work. I was impressed by how thoroughly Robert researches a subject and how quickly he becomes an expert. He has the ability to assess the needs of various target audiences, grasp technical information quickly and produce user-friendly materials that are technically accurate and easy to read. He is very reliable, flexible and meets deadlines. It's been a pleasure to work with him. I hope I get the opportunity to work with him again in the future.
Randolph Dukes was Business Systems Analyst and Senior Product Manager at Campus Management when I was there. Randolph is a hard-working self-starter who invariably understands exactly what a project is all about from the outset, and how to get it done quickly and effectively. During his tenure at Campus he impressed me as a resourceful, creative, and solution-oriented person who was frequently able to come up with new and innovative approaches to his assigned projects. He functioned well as a team member, often providing influential leadership.
