Profile Questions

What are the most important things to consider when hiring a service provider in your field?

There are three key considerations: 1) the client is ready to engage wholly in the coaching relationship. That is to say they are ready to take bold steps and to acknowledge all possibilities no matter how difficult that might be, no matter where the responsibility may lie; 2) the client is at ease with and confident they can develop trust in the coach. This is a prerequisite to bringing the first consideration to fruition; 3) the client recognizes that they will be doing the "heavy lifting." The coach is a facilitator however the client is the creator and owner of the outcome. Anything less is not sustainable and success is meant to last.

How are you different than others in your profession?

My focus is on business from the perspective of the business owner. Their abilities, challenges, construct, potential and ambition are fundamental to the success of their business. The rest is important but without a strong foundation virtually all will fail; I help to make sure the foundation is not only not overlooked but that it is reinforced to the extent possible.

What are your biggest professional influences (books, mentors, events)?

I credit my mentor Will Calmas for encouraging me to enter the coaching profession. His honest appraisal led me to see that my passion lies in my ability to inspire and guide others to be the very best they can be. I do not look to books, events and such for influence. I find that my greatest influence is derived from the challenges my clients, peers and colleagues pose. It is this that drives me to perform above and beyond each and every time.
