Assistant Architectural Designer at Tierra Concepts, Inc

Achieved high responsibility level at this collaborative design-build firm. Designed and managed construction of residential homes, tenant improvements, and institutions in both conventional and alternative materials. Specified furniture, cabinetry, fixtures, and finishes with an eye toward elegant, cost-effective solutions. Coordinated with construction and purchasing departments as well as outside vendors. Handled client relations and logistics and interfaced with appropriate governing authorities. Processed majority of change orders due to discernment and efficiency. Back cover piece describing a manually-operated crane constructed by a team of college students from multidisciplinary, cross-institutional courses on engineering, timber framing, and engineering history. Translated historic documents, built scale models, and participated in the carpentry for the construction of this replica crane from the 1750s. The project itself was envisioned and overseen by Rick Brown, a professor at MassArt.
